What a Move in Switzerland Costs
As a moving company in Switzerland, we bill based on actual time spent, in fifteen-minute increments, including the trip there and back. The minimum duration is three hours. How many hours you'll need depends on the volume, the floor, and whether there's an elevator: the same 3-room apartment takes noticeably longer on the third floor without an elevator than on the ground floor, since every box has to be carried. In your quote, we give you a guideline for the expected duration. All prices include insurance and exclude 8.1% VAT. Surcharges apply only for heavy items: from 100 kg own weight, CHF 150 per started 100 kg, and a flat CHF 250 for an upright piano. Disposal costs CHF 65 per cubic meter plus labor.

The paperwork alongside the move: registering with your new municipality in the canton of Zurich runs through eUmzug. How it works in other cantons is explained on ch.ch. If you are moving in from abroad, you will need a customs declaration for your household goods; the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security describes the process, and we handle it for you.
